Battlefront:
Renegade Squadron Q&A |
The Official Star Wars Site has an article with LucasArts Lead
Designer Mike Rosser, Lead Tester Ryan Adza, Assistant Producer K.C. Coleman,
Product Marketing Manager Mike Webster and Renegade Squadron Blog Master Chris
Baker answer fan questions about Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade
Squadron.
Will I be able to make a character with a Jetpack, Clone Blaster Rifle,
and Clone Commander's chain gun, decked out in a dark gray Jet Trooper armor? Or
is this strictly a Galactic Civil War affair and you won't include some Clone
Wars stuff?
Adza: First off, this is a full Battlefront game, so you will be able
to play as not only in the Galactic Civil War time period, but also in the Clone
Wars. As for the character you are asking about in your question, you can make a
character on the Clone side that looks sort of like this. There is no actual Jet
Trooper skin but there are some clone skins that will get you close. There is
also no gray custom color, but there is black -- which I think looks really
cool.
Now for the weapons: You can have a clone with a jetpack and either a blaster
rifle or a Clone Commander's chain gun, but you cannot have both since they are
both in the weapon 1 category. But there are a ton of really cool choices for a
secondary weapon that you can have to complement your weapon 1 choice and your
jetpack. Some of these weapons include an explosive blaster pistol or an EMP
launcher.
Be sure to read the full article for all the questions and answers about
this new PSP game.

Star Wars:
Vector |
A yearlong event with
repercussions for every era and every hero in the Star Wars galaxy begins
here!
Hot on the heels of the 30th anniversary of one of the most
celebrated and revered storylines of all time, fans will have the first taste of
what will be one of the biggest events to ever shake the Star Wars galaxy. Two
years after Dark Horse ambitiously relaunched the entire Star Wars line of
comics with the titles Knights of the Old Republic, Legacy, Rebellion, and Dark
Times, comes the next chapter in the galaxy’s best comics.
Beginning in
January 2008 with the popular Knights of the Old Republic title, Star Wars
“Vector” will eclipse all four titles throughout the year, introducing new
characters and tying the entire line together, This promises to be one of the
biggest crossovers the world of comics has seen yet!
When a terrible
vision reaching more than 4,000 years into the future alerts the secret Jedi
Covenant to the importance of Taris, they activate an operative already on this
planet overrun by Mandalorians. There, in the deadly Undercity, a monstrous,
ancient threat is unleashed that plunges Zayne Carrick, the Padawan accused of
killing his fellow students, into an adventure which will eventually span four
thousand years and involve Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and the principles of
the Legacy series!
“After our relaunch in 2006 and the thirtieth
anniversary this year, we were looking for something special to kick-off 2008,”
said editor Randy Stradley. “At first, a line-wide Star Wars crossover seemed
like it might be beyond our reach, but after nearly a year’s worth of
back-and-forth discussions among our writers and artists, we came up with
something really solid. Not only is it a big story that can span all of the eras
we’re dealing with, but the events which take place within each era will be
important to that era.”
For anyone who never knew where to start with
Star Wars comics, “Vector” is the perfect introduction to the entire Star Wars
line! For any serious Star Wars fan, “Vector” is the must-read event of 2008,
with major happenings throughout the most important moments of the galaxy’s
history. The “Vector” story begins in Knights of the Old Republic #25, this
coming January.
The "Vector" storyline will appear in Knights of the Old
Republic #25-28, Dark Times #11-12, Rebellion #15-16, and Legacy
#29-32. |

Family Guy
Strikes Back |
TV Week has a blog entry that talks about future episodes of
“Family Guy.” Sunday night’s one-hour “Star Wars” parody episode of Fox’s
“Family Guy” was such a ratings success that producers are considering devoting
an episode to “The Empire Strikes Back” next year.
The season premiere featured characters from “Family Guy” performing a
compressed re-enactment of the 1977 film, using the original sound effects and
John Williams’ musical score.
Posting a 5.5 preliminary rating among adults 18 to 49, the episode was the
highest-rated “Family Guy” since the show returned to Fox in 2005 (full weekend
ratings will be posted soon). A spokesman for 20th Century Fox Television said
there’s no official announcement on a sequel, but doing “Empire” next year
“seems likely.”
In an interview conducted before the episode aired, executive producer Chris
Sheridan said the staff wants to do “Empire” if Sunday’s episode performed well.
The parodies could give “Family Guy” an annual format-breaking event like “The
Simpsons’” popular Halloween episodes.
But if you missed last night’s episode (titled “Blue Harvest”—the production
code name of “Return of the Jedi”), future viewing opportunities are scarce. The
day after airing, “Family Guy” episodes typically are available on Fox’s video
player, or for purchase on Xbox 360 and other electronic retailers. For the time
being, Fox is holding back “Blue Harvest” and has no current plans for an encore
presentation. Fox also kept the episode off iTunes, where it uploaded premiere
episodes for several other shows last week. (Note: A reader pointed out in the
blog comments that Adult Swim airs "Family Guy" encores. According to the
network's Web site, "Blue Harvest" is slated for Oct. 14 at 11 p.m.).
Be sure to read the rest of the article about the show. It is at the
bottom of the page. |
