R2-M5 was a droid that worked for the Royal Naboo Security Forces. It was one of the astromech droids aboard the Queen's starship as of 32 years before the Battle of Yavin. When a battleship opened fire on the Naboo Royal Starship, R2-M5 did not go out to make immediate repairs. This was, in retrospect, a smart move, since many astromechs who ventured out failed to return. R2-M5 lived to serve in the Naboo Space Battle when he went into the socket of an N-1 starfighter. His fate in the battle is unknown.
