Visual Confirmation?

There has been a lot of speculation about what is going to happen to Padmé in Episode III. A couple of our previous reports "EPIII: A tragic accident" and "EPIII: More Padmé Spoilers" help to catch you up on the theories behind what will happen to Padmé. We may now have a what I believe to be a brief confirmation from the last Episode III webdoc called "Video Village." They show a very fast sequence of shots up close so we really don't get the full picture at the very end of the documentary that gives a few clues. I believe the first picture is when Spoilers - Highlight to read:
Obi-Wan draws his saber against Anakin for the first time. You can see the rage in Anakin's face! Then they cut to Padmé with a look that I swear is her being strangled by the Force. Then we see her eyes roll back and she falls limp and collapses. Then it cuts to Mace I think to throw us off, then back to Obi-Wan and Anakin clashing sabers in a continuation from the earlier shots. Anyone with Hyperspace needs to take a look at this webdoc again up close and frame by frame to let me know what you think.

New Site of the Month

Galactic Voyage has selected the next "Site of the Month" winner! The winner for June, 2004 is Star Wars Combine! Congratulations! I want to say thank you to all who applied. Don't worry if you were not chosen this month. Once you have applied, you will always be in the running!

The Star Wars Combine is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing simulation game, based on the Star Wars universe, having been developed by amateurs during their spare time. Its purpose is to welcome and gather thousands of players inside the same game, creating an extremely rich gaming environment. The multitude of players generates an unlimited quantity of interactions between them and you get the implementation of existing mechanisms, from physics to economy, including politics, engineering, logic, and even socialization. This site is so massive, that it will take you a week to see it all. The highest recommendation is given and I hope that you will pay them a visit.

If you would like to submit your site to be in the running for July, then apply here to be "Site of the Month!"

KV01 Cruiser - Elevator Lobby

The Official Star Wars Site has provided the first installment of the new KnollVision virtual reality series featuring the sets of Episode III.
The first set used during the first day of principal photography of Episode III was a turbolift lobby aboard a sprawling Trade Federation cruiser. Only one of the quartet of blast doors opened, revealing the smaller set of the turbolift car within. In this particular set-up, the sliding doors have been replaced with a scored door, and the interior props reveal that a pair of crafty Jedi is loose aboard the Separatist starship. The adjoining hallway was also built out as a larger set on a different part of the stage. This is a very cool feature and I would recommend you all take a look! Unfortunately you must be a Hyperspace member to view this great picture.

Episode III Pictures Section Closed!

I received this e-mail today:

Dear Webmaster -

It has come to our attention that your website, is posting unauthorized copies of content from the Official Star Wars website (www.starwars.com) and in particular, content from the subscriber-only area of the site -  Hyperspace (www.starwars.com/hyperspace) .

This content is Lucasfilm copyright and use elsewhere is a violation of the starwars.com Terms of Service.

We trust this is an oversight or miscommunication and that any such content will be removed from your site immediately and no future re-posting will occur. This will allow us to avoid a more formal communication in the future.

Thank you for your enthusiasm for Star Wars and thank you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.

-  Lucasfilm, Content Management
  http://www.starwars.com || http://www.indianajones.com

From the Webmaster:

Just to set the record straight, I never posted any material from the Hyperspace section, and the few pictures that were here can be found on any website on the Internet. I have purposely not posted pictures that I have found out of respect for Lucasfilm copyright issues. I apologize for any problems that I have caused, but feel I am being targeted unjustly! There are many larger websites that will blatantly disregard any copyright issues by posting all of the latest pictures to include Hyperspace images. I can only hope that the Lucasfilm Content Management team will be fair by issuing the same warning to all other violators.

DVD Edition Figures

There will be three special Original Trilogy Collection action figure packs coming this fall with the release of the Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD's. Each set represents one of the movies. The A New Hope set will contain Ben, Luke, R2-D2 & C-3PO. The Empire Strikes Back set will contain Han, Chewbacca, and Leia. Finally, the Return of the Jedi set will contain the Emperor, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper. I cannot keep up with all of these different figure collections! They just keep repackaging the same figures over and over which I think diminishes the value of the Star Wars series.
