September 2003 Comics

The
Official Star Wars Site has provided a look at what Dark Horse Comics has in store for Star Wars fans this fall. To Biggs Darklighter, it seems like he's already lived a lifetime of adventures since joining the Rebel Alliance. But now, reunited with his boyhood friend Luke Skywalker, Biggs faces what will prove to be the adventure of his life -- and his death -- the assault on the Death Star.

Star Wars: Empire #13, the final chapter of the four-part "Darklighter" story series, is by Paul Chadwick, Doug Wheatley and Chris Chuckry, and features cover art by Kilian Plunkett. It is scheduled for release on September 3.

The planet Jabiim is falling to the Separatists, and the final command rests on the shoulder's of Anakin Skywalker. Obi-Wan is missing in action, and all of Anakin's fellow Jedi are dead. The honorable thing to do would be to fight to the last man-or clone-alongside the loyalist Jabiimi. The smart thing would be to live to fight another day, save as many of his remaining troops as possible and retreat.

Will Anakin listen to his heart or his head? Should he die a hero, or survive to become a general? And which decision is the right one? Is there a "right" choice?

The final chapter of the four-part Battle of Jabiim storyline appears in Star Wars: Republic #58, by Haden Blackman and Brian Ching, featuring cover art by Tomás Giorello. It is scheduled for release on September 17.

Star Wars Tales #17 celebrates all that is dark, creepy, and evil. Watch as Chewbacca comes face to face with undead specters on Hoth. Scream as Han Solo tries desperately to overcome a zombie hoard. And gasp in shock as Luke Skywalker battles a ghostly Darth Maul. This issue of Tales features work from Joe Casey, Steve Niles,Jason Hall, Ben Templesmith, Francisco Paronzini, Greg Titus, Rob Williams and more, plus cover art from Udon. The issue is scheduled for release on September 24.
