As reported on Thursday, a report from Jedinet
stated that Fox Studios Australia might have a familiar fighter in
store for us in Episode III. "Apparently
the Republic has some new fighters in their arsenal, and it seems
that Lucas might be bringing the
familiar X-Wing back into action in Episode III." As I said
in that article, I thought that these fighters might be too new for
Episode III. Now Jedi Yug has provided the proof from StarWars.com
that this was not a ship for Episode III, but something else.
Hi
bud,
The X-Wing at Fox Australia was NOT made for Episode III. Here it
is from
the official site.
"One of the highlights of the recent opening ceremony for Fox
Studios
Australia -- besides the appearance of C-3PO and R2-D2 -- was the
landing of
a full-size X-wing fighter accompanied by a dazzling show of smoke
and
lights. This wasn't ILM digital magic, but a real-life special
effect. As
these behind-the-scenes rehearsal photos show, technicians at the
studio
rigged a two-ton X-wing that had been built years ago for a Star
Wars video
promotion and "flew" it onto the stage with a giant
construction crane. A
dazzling display of pyrotechnics accompanied the landing, and the
droids
seemed to emerge from the fighter's cockpit."

Great
work Jedi Yug!! There you have it fans, strait from StarWars.com. No
X-Wings in Episode III.
