The Padawan Post #53

The latest Padawan Post has arrived and here are some features for you to enjoy:

Valentine E-Cards
What do lightsabers, a bounty hunter, droids and a monkey-lizard have to do with Valentine's Day? Everything if you are in the Star Wars universe. These seven e-cards scratch below the surface of the saga to reveal great messages of friendship and affection for Valentine's Day. In case you want something more traditional, there are a few mushy messages, too. Some have sound, so turn up your speakers! Click here to e-mail all seven to your friends and family today.

What Was The First Star Wars Toy...
Padawans have written so much about their favorite Star Wars books and toys on the Books & Toys Viewscreen, but we've never asked you to tell us about the first Star Wars toy you ever got. Now's your chance. What was it? How did it make you feel? How many toys do you have now? Click here to respond.

Meet "America's Best Young Star Wars Collector"
"...The best collection is the one which makes an improvement in your life. A collection which brings you closer to your dad. It's not all about me having this figure or that vehicle. It's all about the fun times, the sharing, the accomplishments, the hunt, and the memories you get from your collection. This is what I believe makes my collection the best." ~13-year-old Andrew, winner of Hasbro's recent "Best Young Star Wars Collector" contest. In this Valentine issue of the Padawan Post, Andrew shares his love of collecting. Click here to check it out.

Slider Puzzles: Love, Star Wars Style
Dug Love. Is this the face only a mother could love? Possibly. But regardless of his distinctive physical characteristics - "arms" that used to be his back limbs, "legs" that used to be his front limbs, a tight leather racing suit decorated with trophy coins, and beaded danglers that hang from his snout - Sebulba is impossible to love because of his distinctive mental characteristics. As an extremely competitive Podracer, he is crafty, vicious, murderous, aggressive and arrogant. In short, Sebulba is a creature that only Sebulba can love. Click here to play with him and other characters in this new batch of slider puzzles made specially for Valentine's Day.

Site Highlight ~ The "I Love You" Lines
Moments before Han Solo was encased in carbonite Leia said "I love you," and Han's response became famous. Some people just can't express their feelings very well. This Valentine's Day, whether you are more like Leia or more like Han, you'll enjoy reading about the making of this memorable Star Wars scene. It is recommended that you also forward it to your Valentine. Click here for some Star Wars history.

On-Going ~ Padawan of the Week
Each week one StarWarsKids.com Padawan is honored as the "Padawan of the Week" for their participation in the Viewscreen communities. The Viewscreens are kid-safe message boards where participants discuss all aspects of Star Wars. These Padawans are especially recognized for their interesting Star Wars questions and comments, their friendly debate skill, and their welcoming spirit to all new participants. The Padawan Post is proud to highlight the recent honorees:

February 6, from the Saga Talk Viewscreen: "Consideringthat he [Vader] saved his son, destroyed the Emperor and thus the Sith, I say that deep down the real Anakin from Tatooine never really turned. His corruption was only skin-deep."
~ Padawan Obi-Wan's Ultimate Fan!

January 30, from the Padawan Viewscreen: "One of the things I like about Star Wars and StarWarsKids.com is u get recognized and u have power. Being a kid, you usually don't."
~ Padawan queenjamilla
