New Star Wars
Poster |
The Official Star Wars Site has announced a new poster! Composed
in the spirit of the retro-inspired 1978 "Circus" poster for Star Wars
(so-called because of its big-top genre look), StarWarsShop's new "Sith Circus"
one-sheet by artist Matt Busch brilliantly captures the adventure, excitement
and emotion of Revenge of the Sith in a fresh and unexpected way. And
StarWarsShop is the only place you can get one!
Fans of the 1978 poster by artists Charles White III and Drew Struzan will
note many of the compositional elements of the Sith Circus artwork have been
reversed to allow for a side-by-side presentation with the 1978 original.
Together, the two beautifully showcase many of the heroes and villains from both
trilogies.
When you purchase both posters, you can display them in the order you enjoy
watching the movies -- prequels first or prequels last -- since the two display
beautifully either way!
For the first 500 Hyperspace members who purchase the Sith Circus one-sheet,
a free concept sketch of the artwork will be included, exhibiting some of the
ideas that were considered early on (including Padmé with a blaster!).
Also, 15-percent of the total print run will include the signature of artist
Matt Busch, which will be randomly sent out to those who purchase the Sith
Circus poster (this applies to both Hyperspace and non-Hyperspace members).
The posters measure approximately 27"x40", with the concept sketch dimensions
TBD.
This is a limited edition one-sheet that will only be available through
StarWarsShop. Celebrate 30 years of Star Wars with an artwork pair that
truly captures the spirit of the saga!

Galaxies Gives
Back |
The Star
Wars Blog has an article about the loyal community of Star Wars:
Galaxies MMO put gaming to an even greater good when they teamed up with Habitat
for Humanity.
In the game, a surplus of abandoned player-created houses and buildings were
clogging up the landscape, and the player asked for a bit of “urban renewal.” So
the houses were marked “condemned” and scheduled for demolition via a TIE
fighter Blitzkrieg.
Sony Online Entertainment VP of Development John Blakely saw the opportunity
to bridge the gap between virtual and real housing by offering to match the
number of houses demolished with a donation to the charity Habitat for
Humanity.
“Using the money we raised blowing-up virtual houses and buildings to help
build real homes was a no-brainer for us,” said Blakely. “Austin Habitat for
Humanity has done incredible work in the community, helping people find good
homes, and our whole studio wanted to contribute to their
efforts.”
This is a really great deed and I applaud SOE for making this
happen. |

Character Section
Re-Vamped |
I have re-vamped the Characters Section. I have tried to make it easier to
navigate and easier to find the characters you are looking for. You can still
get a listing of characters using their picture, but instead of breaking them
down by Light Side and Dark Side, then by episode, they are all together
regardless. You can also still see an alphabetical listing of all of our
characters if that is easier for you in the Character Index. Also, as I have
done with the Ships Section, you will now start to see Flash video for
characters. I have already begun the process of updating some of the older
entries to include the Flash video. Be on the lookout for more updates in the
near future. |

6 Years-United We
Stand |
My thoughts and prayers go out to
all those that were affected by the ghastly terror attacks of September 11,
2001. I hope the passage of time has allowed some peace to enter your hearts. We
remember and honor those that lost their lives six years ago and we honor those
that have given their lives today in order to preserve our freedom. May we never
forget and may we always remain vigilant and united.
