For animatics, how detailed...

For animatics, how detailed did you animate big crowds like the battle droids and clone forces?

For hero elements -- that is, elements that are close to the camera that are part of the story -- we use full 3-D characters. For midground elements we use a combination of 3-D models and 2-D cards with animated images on them. For background elements we only use 2-D cards, some with animated movies but mostly without. We try to keep the scenes as light as possible.
