Although it was probably accidental...

This report comes from the Official Star Wars Site!
Answered by: Rob Coleman

Although it was probably accidental, were you worried about the similarities between the Kaminoans and the A.I. aliens?

The design similarities between the Kaminoans and the A.I. aliens (which were actually robots) were coincidental. I believe that George Lucas was trying to evoke the idea of the classic almond shaped alien. A.I wasn't our concern, but Jedi Master Yarael Poof, a long necked Jedi seen on the Jedi Council in The Phantom Menace, was. He was removed in Attack of the Clones and replaced with Jedi Master Coleman Trebor so there wasn't any confusion that a Kaminoan was on the Jedi Council.
