The Force
Unleashed Delayed Again |
Well, I was over at the LucasArts site today and noticed that during The Force
Unleashed Teaser Trailer, the section at the bottom used to state Spring 2008
and now has been updated to Summer 2008. I went to Amazon to see when the game
is now supposed to ship and it states August 26, 2008. Well, I guess you might
get to play the game by Christmas this year if it doesn't get delayed
anymore. |

Today's new video clip in the Movies Section is the Fan Film entitled
I.M.P.S.: The
Relentless. I.M.P.S.: The Relentless is a fan film that made its
debut on the Internet in 2005. I.M.P.S. (Imperial Military Personnel Stories)
shows troops that serve on the Revenge-class Star Destroyer
Relentless as it goes on patrols and missions.
Join a patrol squad from the Imperial Urban Army on their final
assignment for the day. Not a job for the light hearted, these hardened soldiers
put their lives on the line as they clean up the dark streets and dangerous
corridors of Davenport Gateway.
Originally slated to be Troops 2, I.M.P.S. took on a more serious
tone. While no longer a specific parody like Troops, the film does have some
humor and homage to a variety of other popular films. This fan film has
fantastic original music and professional visual effects. You can find this
video in the Fan Films section. Enjoy!

Star Wars Insider
#99 - Live Action Series Update |
Okay, for those of you who do not
get the Star Wars Insider or haven't had a chance to read it yet, here are a few
updates that have taken place for the upcoming Live Action Series. Rick McCallum
has stated the following:
"The series will be about brand new characters, a group of people we haven't
seen yet, except Boba Fett, who will be an instrumental part of it. The series
will also showcase other bounty hunters."
"What happens to an empire.
It's a much darker, much more character-based thing. It's not as plot-driven."
The show will "look like a feature on a television budget, with all new
characters, new environments, new planets, and trying to keep the storyline
alive for a lot of people."
"We have two great writers from England, one
from Australia, and three from the United States." "...in order to develop the
'bible' for the characters, in other words who they are and where they're going
to go, along with some of the story ideas. We're going to try and hash out the
first three or four episodes."
Other bits and pieces of information have stated that four Concept Artists
have been working on designs for the show. One of which is Erik Tiemens, who
worked on Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith. Rick McCallum also
states they hope to have the first scripts by February 2008 since a November
2007 meeting was cancelled due to the Writers Guild strike. Lucasfilm is
considering making an independent deal with the Writers Guild of America (WGA)
that could get their writers back to work before the strike ends. If that
happens they hope to be shooting the show by the end of 2008 or early in
2009. |

Interview With
Bryan Ono Of eFX |
Rebelscum has a great interview with Bryan Ono of eFX!
Philip: Bryan, congratulations! A lot of our viewers and forum members are
pleased with the announcement from Lucasfilm that there is to be a new prop
replica company continuing Star Wars products, and that you are involved.
Can you tell us a little of how that came about?
Bryan: First, I
would like to thank everyone for their kind support and confidence in eFX simply
based on the assumptions that I was involved. Larry, Barry and I are very proud
that Lucasfilm chose eFX and our network of resources and manufacturers to
continue the prop replica category.
As many of you already know, Larry,
Barry and I have a deep passion for Star Wars. Hopefully the consumers
saw this in the products that we have worked on previously. Only after it was
confirmed that MR would not be renewing the license, we put together what we
thought was an innovative proposal to Lucasfilm to not only continue on in the
same tradition, but, more importantly to build on it.
There were a number
of strong, qualified contenders, with the same deep passion for Star
Wars, vying for the license. Lucasfilm carefully evaluated each of the
different companies and the proposals they submitted. The fact that they
ultimately selected a start-up company dedicated to focusing on the needs and
desires of the core collectors while enhancing the category with some new
innovations and technologies, proves that Lucasfilm had the needs of the fans as
their number one priority.

The Ultimate
Bounty Hunter |
The Official Star Wars Site has an excerpt from Insider #99!
Although he's enjoyed a varied and prolific career over 40 years, Jeremy Bulloch
is still best known as Star Wars bounty hunter Boba Fett. Here is an excerpt on
a feature interview by Jonathan Wilkins.
What do you think is the secret to Boba Fett's success? Why is he such a
fan favorite?
If you look at the outfit, as an actor you don't have to do much. The true
success is all there in the outfit. He captures Han Solo, which is pretty cool,
and briefly he answers Darth Vader back! Not many people do that and get away
with it. He's on his own. He means well, he's very honest about his job, and
he's very good at what he does. To keep the mystique he shouldn't take the
helmet off. You see Darth Vader unveiled, but with Fett I feel it would be best
if you never see his face. You might hear him, but you never get a good
look.
Be sure to read the entire interview! |
