Battlefront II On The Way

The official announcement has come for the release of Battlefront II. I have been totally addicted to playing the first game on-line and the second sounds at least as good if not better than the first! My favorite part will be the space battles being that I am also a huge fan of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series. Read on!

Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game’s single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi.

For the first time ever, Star Wars Battlefront II players can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting on foot inside a capital ship, players can enter the spacecraft of their choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, they can dock within the enemy’s capital ship, overtake the ship’s command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or, they can simply stay inside their own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is theirs.

Battlefront II is set for a Fall 2005 release in the US for Xbox, Ps2 and PC. Be sure to visit the Official Website!

Abrynne from our affiliate site A Master and Apprentice sent in two more new wallpapers. Thanks Abrynne! "Hi Affiliates! I've made two new desktop wallpapers for anyone interested. (I promise, no spoilers this time) One is made from a concept drawing of Anakin and Padmé that I just love and the other is Obi-Wan." These great pieces and others can be found over at the Wallpaper section!

EP3 MOVIE TIX

Well it is official here in Atlanta, all the midnight pre-showings for Revenge of the Sith are SOLD OUT!! Luckily for me, I was able to procure a couple from Fandago for openning day, Thursday, May 19th just today...and 30 days still to go...

The other day I received a package for my Star Wars Hyperspace membership and Official Fan Club. It contained many little goodies (mostly what I would have expected were I say, 10?), none-the-less I enjoyed the little typed letter from George Lucas where he tells us, "And though Revenge of the Sith is my last Star Wars movie, I can assure you that we have many treats and surprises for you in the years ahead, all of which will keep Star Wars ongoing and strong..."

We hope so George, we truly hope so...

Only 30 Days Left!

We only have to wait another 30 days until the premier of Episode III Revenge of the Sith hits theaters! It is hard to believe that at this time next month that many Star Wars fans will have seen the movie. As for me, it will be the end of a 28 year ride with the Star Wars movies and a sad time knowing that there will not be any more. I can only hope that the small screen can keep this fire alive that has burned in me for so long. See you at midnight on opening day!

SW: REVELATIONS

If you haven't checked out all the great fan-films yet, you are really missing out on some great fan work from those whose love for Star Wars have led them to create their own cinematic-esque features. One in particular that I have been waiting for is Revelations, which is suppose to be a prelude of sorts to the May 19th release of Revenge of the Sith. The 40 minute movie-ette is suppose to be released to the internet this Monday and can be found here: Revelations is to be about the Dark Lord Vader hunting down the last of the Jedi.

Going to the Dark Side

Well I finaly was able to watch the 16th making -of web-doc titled "Going to the Dark Side" George Lucas talks a lot about the developement of Hayden Christensen's character Anakin from Episode II to Episode III. In the february issue of Vanity Fair Lucas had defended Christensen's much criticized portraital of a whiney Padawan as being a perfect reflection of the character Lucas had invisioned. In the before mentioned web-doc Lucas goes on to say that he had chosen Hayden for his ability to show varied emotions, from his anger and anxieties to his immature attitudes which are all signs and his start down the path to the dark side. It is a fairly good web-doc with more insight into the making of Revenge of the Sith

Hayden Christensen will grace the cover of the May issue of GQ Magazine where he will discuss his acting experiences in films, including his experience with the filming of Revenge of the Sith. The May issue will be out April 22nd!
