| Blu-ray Sales For 'Star Wars' Top $84 Million | |
Variety has an article stating that consumers were willing to shell out top dollar for the complete "Star Wars" franchise, which bowed on Blu-ray this week, with the collection selling more than 1 million units to break records for the high-definition home video format. The nine-disc set generated more than $84 million from worldwide sales, with $38 million collected in the U.S. alone, from 515,000 units in North America. On average, the collection is priced at $79.99. The sales figures made "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" the No. 1 pre-order and catalog title since the launch of Blu-ray in 2006. To get their viewers excited for their programming, SPACE made this entertaining promo video featuring Darth Vader and Stormtrooper getting some ice cream. Today I have updated the Andrew Ravenwood Collection. Remember that these images were created in the late 1990's through the early 2000's and Andrew has graciously allowed me to provide his artwork once again to Star Wars fans. Today's new video clips in the Movies Section are from The Clone Wars Season 4. The first available episode is Water War.
Synopsis: When the king of Mon Cala is assassinated, talks break down between the Mon Calamari people and the Quarren, co-inhabitants of the aquatic world. To stop a civil war, the Republic sends Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, but unbeknownst to them, the Quarren are already being backed by the Separatists. Now the Jedi must protect Mon Cala's new leader, the young Prince Lee-Char, from the attack. The second available episode is Gungan Attack.
Synopsis: Anakin Skywalker and the rest of his Jedi team have been overrun by the Separatist surprise attacks led by Riff Tamson while Prince Lee-Char and Ahsoka must evade capture on their own. Unable to summon more Republic aid, Yoda calls upon the help of the powerful and amphibious Gungan Grand Army, but whether they will be enough to stop the Separatist siege is uncertain. An incensed Tamson doubles his efforts in tracking down Prince Lee-Char, unleashing the reinforcements given to him by Count Dooku in an assault that churns the oceans.
