Featured Artist
Craig Burt-Painting by Numbers 3 |
Featured Artist Craig Burt has sent in another
breakdown of one of his paintings that provides us with a look into how the
picture came about. Here is some of the article created by Craig:
"D
Day"
This one is 'D Day' - 'D' as in dark, a dark day for the
Jedi.
Those with a keen eye may notice a difference in the look of the
painting - the way its painted. That's because it's an acrylic painting, not
oils, which almost all my paintings are. Of the paintings in this gallery only a
about four are acrylics.
It is obviously an interpretation of the
confrontation between Palpatine, Mace and Anakin. I can't remember really how
much was known about the scene at the time it was painted, but, it's obvious I
went with Mace getting a little bit of a shock.
Be sure to read the rest of the article about "D
Day" in the Featured Artist section.
Thanks Craig for another great walkthrough of how this image came about!
Enjoy! |

Music Section
Updated |
Today I have updated the Music section with a new track! The latest addition is from
Meco and it is called Star Wars
Disco. I remember when I was young listening to this song on the radio back
in the 70's. I remember always being really excited to hear something Star Wars
on the radio. It is a fun song to hear, that is if you can stand Disco. Hey, it
is Star Wars so it shouldn't matter! Enjoy! |

Just Han Solo
Calls It Quits |
One of our Affiliate sites has
called it quits after nearly 5 years on the Internet. Just Han Solo, a character
site devoted to everyone's favorite smuggler and all around scoundrel has shut
their doors for good and this is what the webmaster had to say:
"Just Han Solo has now closed. Thank you to all who have helped with the
site over the years by contributing, linking, visiting, signing the guestbook
etc. May the force be with you..."
I have a feeling now that the movies are officially over and complete, we are
going to see a lot of this type of activity going on. I guess there is a drop in
interest for Star Wars with both the fans and the website owners. We wish them
best of luck on whatever they do.

October 2006
Comics |
The Official Star Wars Site has provided a look at more Dark Horse
Comics for Star Wars fans this October. First off, in the distant future, a
galaxy-shaking secret is revealed in the heat of battle in Star Wars Legacy #5.
Old friendships will be strained to the breaking point, unlikely new alliances
will be formed, and the relentless forces of evil will pursue their dark ends
with even greater vigor and purpose. In a universe on the brink of either
destruction or salvation, it is the actions of an unexpected few that will
determine the fates of all. The latest issue of Star Wars Legacy, by John
Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons and Jon Anderson, with cover by Adam
Hughes, is scheduled for release on October 3.
In the distant past, secret motivations and a troubled history are revealed
in a standalone story of fear, neglect and betrayal in the ancient Old Republic.
After the great Sith War, one Jedi dedicated herself to training only the most
gifted seers in hopes of foretelling and preventing the return of the Sith. But
obsession with her mission led to oversight elsewhere, allowing dark influences
to take hold amidst the Jedi order. Now, events have been set into motion that
cannot be undone, the consequences of which will rewrite the fate of the entire
galaxy.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #10, by John Jackson Miller, Brian
Ching and Michael Atiyeh, is scheduled for release on October 25.
The dark times are here. Dark Horse Comics ventures into that shadows that
stretch from Episode III to Episode IV, as the worlds of the Galactic Republic
are drawn into the iron grip of Palpatine's Empire.
On Coruscant, Darth Vader waits for his Master to reveal his vision for the
future. But is there a plan beyond obtaining power? On New Plympto, Jedi Master
Dass Jennir leads a Nosaurian army in a war they have already lost. Is this what
it now means to be a Jedi?
Star Wars: Dark Times #1, the first of a five-part story arc, is the gateway
to a new era in Star Wars history. The Path to Nowhere story references events
in the bestselling Del Rey novel, Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader.
Issue #1, by Welles Hartley, Mick Harrison, Douglas Wheatley and Ronda Pattison,
is scheduled for release on October 25. |
