David Duchovny not in Episode III?

Today TF.N has reported that X-Files David Duchovny has not been asked to play in Episode III. Here is the article from Coming Attractions:

"David Duchovny was NOT called by George Lucas to star in Episode 3. This is just a big case of miscommunication! The thing is, on that French chat David took part on last week, a FAN asked him if, *IF* George Lucas would ask him to be on Episode 3, would he say yes. Note that this was a fan-David Duchovny interaction, George Lucas or Lucasfilm have absolutrely nothing to do with it.

And David's answer was just one of his jokes (he has this way of being absolutely ironic about everything!) He said that he's a Star Wars fan, but that, if invited, he probably wouldn't have the time to be on Episode 3 because he has tons of productions in piles after The X-Files (which he doesn't, he has just one movie - Evolution).

Now, I know everyone has been reporting this news, but you can trust me. I was in that chat, and I can understand French (which may not be the case for the person who first translated the chat to English), so I can pretty much say that David never said he was contacted by George Lucas."

Well, there you have it. David did not actually turn Lucas down and that is a good thing!
