The Official Star Wars Site has
provided a look at more Dark Horse Comics for Star Wars fans this Fall.
September 2007 Much has been told about the legacy of the Skywalker family, but
until now little has been said of the legacy of Obi-Wan Kenobi! If you think you
know the whole story, prepare yourself for a shock. In the wake of the Clone
Wars, Obi-Wan fought a lonely battle -- the outcome of which rocks the future of
the Star Wars galaxy! Another layer of the Legacy mystery is
revealed in Star Wars: Legacy #16, third part of the six-part "Dragon"
story arc by John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parson and Brad Anderson, with
cover art by Travis Charest. It is due out on September 12.
One of the Empire's most valuable secrets is about to be compromised unless
Darth Vader can get to it in time! This is the all-action conclusion to "The
Ahakista Gambit," a compelling new story set between the events of A New
Hope and The Empire Strikes Back exploring the Rebel Alliance's
desperate struggle against the Galactic Empire. Deep inside an Imperial
stronghold, a team of spies led by Wyl Tarson fights for their lives. Loyal to
the Rebel cause, each is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to complete the
mission, none realizing that Tarson marches to the orders of someone far more
sinister than the Alliance. For Tarson, this is the moment of truth -- will he
betray those who trusted him with everything? One thing is certain, once Vader
arrives, few will be left alive. The action in Star Wars: Rebellion #10
is delivered in high-octane, widescreen style by writer Rob Williams
(Cla$$war, Star Wars Tales) and artist Michel Lacombe (Star Wars
Tales, Star Wars Empire), with color by Wil Glass and cover art by Ryan
Sook. It is due out on September 12.
Negotiations between the Republic and the Mandalorians come to a head in this
unthinkable conclusion to the compelling "Daze of Hate" story arc of the
Knights of the Old Republic series. Aboard his massive flagship
Arkanian Legacy, Lord Adasca believes his plan to become the most
powerful being in the galaxy is about achieve fruition. If he is to be stopped,
fugitive Padawan Zayne Carrick must risk it all with a quickly conceived and
untested scheme that requires help from none other than his arch-nemesis and
former teacher -- Jedi Master Lucien! Yet as these two former enemies spring
into action amidst Adasca's carefully controlled meeting of the Republic and the
Mandalorians, another plot is set into motion -- one that will seal the fate of
several major players forever! Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #21
is by John Jackson Miller, Bong Dazo, Michael Atiyeh with cover art by Chris
Warner. It is due out on September 26.
Venture into new, unexplored territory following the events of Revenge of
the Sith! As the crew of the Uhumelé heads for what they hope will be
a big payday, Bomo Greenbark learns the reasons why pilot Crys Taanzer hates not
just the Republic and the Empire, but even the Jedi. Events during the Clone
Wars forced her to make a decision that she has lived to regret. And, though she
cannot know it, her decision has had ramifications for Jedi Master K'Kruhk, as
well. The real danger still lies ahead, as betrayal is piled upon betrayal. In
the dark times, putting your trust in anyone, it seems, means putting your life
on the line! Star Wars: Dark Times #7, the second part of the five-part
"Parallels" story-arc, is by Mick Harrison and Dave Ross, with cover art by Zach
Howard. It is dude out on September 26.
October 2007 A turning-point issue in the most surprising
Legacy arc yet comes out on Halloween. In the heart of the Sith Temple on
Coruscant, an unexpected acolyte trains in the ways of the Sith. Captured by
Darth Krayt, Cade Skywalker has made an unholy bargain with the usurper Emperor.
Is Cade following in the footsteps of Vader? Find out in the fourth part of
"Dragon," Star Wars: Legacy #17 by John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan
Parson, and Brad Anderson, with cover art by Travis Charest. It is due out on
October 31.
Somebody is betrayed, somebody dies in the October issue of Star Wars:
Dark Times. Bomo Greenbark and the smuggler crew of the Uhumelé are
caught in the crossfire between two criminal gangs, both of whom want what the
crew has. But Captain Heren still has one trick left to play -- and it will
result in a dangerous surprise for Jedi Master K'Kruhk, who is half a galaxy
away and who believes himself to be out of peril. These are the dark times, and
nobody gets away easy -- if they even get out alive! Issue #8 of the series is
by Mick Harrison and Dave Ross, with cover art by Zach Howard, and is due out on
October 31.
Also out that day is the start of a new story-arc, "Knights of Suffering," in
the Knights of the Old Republic series. This tale brings fugitive Padawan
Zayne Carrick back to Taris -- the scene of his alleged crime, now overrun by
the Mandalorian army! Deep in the lower city of Taris, swoop bike gangs battle
Mandalorian troops in the streets. An organized resistance to the invasion was
taking shape thanks to an old friend of Zayne's, but something went terribly
wrong. Reunions and betrayals follow Zayne into the heart of a war zone in
Knights of the Old Republic #22, by John Jackson Miller, Dustin Weaver,
Dan Parsons, and Michael Atiyeh (with cover art by Colin Wilson), due out on
October 31.
And beyond... Each month, Dark Horse Comics will bring readers a
limited-edition hardcover of the best of Dark Horse's Star Wars graphic
novels. Available only through Direct Market retail outlets, each volume's print
run is limited to initial orders and will not be reprinted. Throughout the vast
reaches of the galaxy, wherever fugitives meet or lawbreakers conspire, one name
is always uttered in hushed tones, a name guaranteed to strike fear into the
stoutest heart -- Boba Fett. His prices are exorbitant, but if you're
looking for revenge, or if you're looking for protection, he'll get the job
done.
Of course, if you're looking to reclaim your kidnapped fiancé, the heiress to
a Hutt's fortune, no price is too exorbitant. Navigating a web of villainy and
deceit, Fett will go above and beyond the call to do what he does best -- get it
done and get paid! Read about in the ninth volume of the Star Wars: 30th
Anniversary Collection, this one containing Boba Fett: Death, Lies and
Treachery by John Wagner and Cam Kennedy, with cover art by Mathieu
Lauffray. It is due out on November 7.
In December, the tenth volume of the 30th Anniversary Collection
brings back a crimson classic. In all the galaxy, there are no more fearsome
warriors than the Emperor's Imperial Guard, and none is more loyal than Kir
Kanos. But when Carnor Jax -- the most formidable of this elite brotherhood --
betrays the Emperor and orders the murder of the Guard, Kanos must escape to
avenge his master. For Kir Kanos, the last loyal Imperial Guard, and the final
threat to Jax's rise to power, it is vengeance or death -- there are no
alternatives! This installment covers Crimson Empire, by Mike Richardson,
Randy Stradley, Paul Gulacy, P. Craig Russell, and Dave Stewart with cover art
by Dave Dorman. It is due out on December 5th.
Before that, experience the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Sith in a
new, fresh way with a manga-sized adaptation of Revenge of the Sith
comprised of images from the film! Anakin Skywalker becomes the dreaded Darth
Vader in this final chapter of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Pulled from
the movie screen and put on the comics page, this unique comic is a must-have
for anyone who wants to relive the thrill of Star Wars! The Star
Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith Photo Comic, a 96-page
adaptation, is due out on November 21.
The follow up comes early in 2008, as the movie that launched the greatest
myth of modern times gets a whole new look with a manga-sized adaptation of
Star Wars: A New Hope made up entirely of stills from the film! A 96-page
adaptation photo comic is due out on February 27, 2008. |
