Galactic Voyage Featured Fanatic!

Name: Scott Vela

Are you a regular at Galactic Voyage and if not, how did you hear about the Galactic Fanatic?

Actually I'm new to the site. Mostly have been following links to the site.
From what I see I'll be a regular now.

How did you get involved with Star Wars?

First movie I ever saw when I was a kid. Unlike so many of us it took me awhile to realize there were other movies out there. When I heard the 20th Century Fox fanfare I got excited. Imagine my disappointment.

My interest disappeared a couple years after "Jedi" until the Heir to the Empire Novels appeared and its been nonstop ever since. Since then I have been almost living and breathing it.

Which Star Wars movie is your favorite and why?

Definitely The Empire Strikes Back. The second act of a play or story tends to bring more excitement to a story. The first act always introduces the characters. The second act brings more drama and the characters are set in a perilous situation and the third they get out. The special edition tweaked the effects in small points but it was definitely needed in others. Cloud City became a place I wanted to live in.

Which group are you the biggest fan of (Sith, Jedi, Bounty Hunters, etc.) and why?

Lately its been the Jedi Knights. I always loved the dueling scenes from Episode one which stood out the from the dueling in the original trilogy. The clashes brought in itself the Jedi in there prime.

What are your most treasured Star Wars items?

That's kind of tough one. With the assorted action figures, books, posters, soundtracks its hard to say specifically but I would  say my autographs I have signed with my artwork. i.e.. David Prowse, Jeremy Bulloch, Phil Brown, Peter Mayhew and hopefully with many more yet to come. Also I proudly display them alongside My autographs of Ray Park, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and so on. Those actors made those moments when I was growing up and I wanted something that meant more to me than anything.

What is your greatest Star Wars moment? (Ex. First in line to see Star Wars, Had lunch with Carrie Fisher, etc.)

One I would always remember is sharing a beer with Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett.) during the Man behind the Mask tour. We talked about his Work besides Star Wars and I managed to get a photo of the both of us.

Boba Fett was always one of my favorite characters . Next to Darth Vader he seems to be a guy with a large grudge. But the guy who played him was a funny guy and was the highlight of my vacation.

What other hobbies or Star Wars facts would you like to tell us about?

I'm a constant reader of genre Sci-Fi and digital artist. If I'm not plugged into my computer. I'm reading a book or at work helping to pay for all this Stuff. And so far thankfully their is no light at the end of the Collecting tunnel.
