Galactic News

Friday September 7, 2001
Is there a higher demand for animatics and animatics artists in the film industry due to the success of the technique in films such as The Phantom Menace and Mission: Impossible?

This report comes from the Official Star Wars Site!

Answered by: David Dozoretz

There is a much higher demand for pre-visualization today and it continues to grow. Companies such as Persistence of Vision Digital Entertainment are popping up all over the place to provide filmmakers with pre-vis services and Hollywood is really embracing it. Episode I was really groundbreaking in the amount and extent to which animatics were utilized.
