Did Dash Rendar really die in Shadows of the
Empire? Will he appear in Episode II?

While it does appear that Dash Rendar's starship, the Outrider, is destroyed in the novel Shadows of the Empire, the video game reveals a different fate. It was only a trick of timing and perspective. The Outrider survived the final battle over Coruscant, and Dash escaped. He laid low for quite some time, not reappearing until the comic series Shadows of the Empire: Evolution.
Dash Rendar will not appear in Episode II.
