The Empire Laughs Back

John J. Guth the President & Managing Director of the Seattle Star Wars Society sent in this e-mail:

The Empire Laughs Back
A Charity Comedy Event
Sponsored by The Seattle Star Wars Society

Just wanted to remind everyone about the Seattle Star Wars Society's special engagement at Giggle Comedy Club tomorrow night in Seattle.  Tell EVERYONE! Invite as many as you can!  This is a family event, so people of all ages are welcome and all proceeded go to a good cause, the needy kids of Seattle. We did this last year and it was a BLAST!  There were 5 very talented comedians and everyone laughed themselves silly.

Giggles Comedy Club features a full bar and food menu for you to enjoy while laughing yourself silly.

DETAILS
*  Wednesday, October 3rd
*  Giggles Comedy Club - 5220 Roosevelt Way, Seattle, WA 98105 - (206) 526-5653
*  Tickets will be $10 (all ages) and can be picked up at the door.
*  The club holds 250 people, so arrive early, order some appetizers and get a good seat.
*  The show begins at 8:00PM doors open at 7:30PM
*  ALL are welcome

Proceeded from the evening will go toward the Seattle Star Wars Society's "Junior Jedi Program" to benefit needy children throughout Seattle around the holidays.

A few days ago a fellow Star Wars Fan and SSWS member had this question about the comedy night:

"Am I to expect the comedy to be Star Wars-based? In other words, are there going to be Star Wars jokes? Or is this just a regular comedy night with an audience filled with Star Wars fans?"

I thought this was a good question to ask and just wanted to let everyone know what my response was:

"Last year we had 5 comedians performing their "normal" hysterical comedy routine with an audience filled with SW fans.  What ended up happening was
that the comedians changed most of their material to be more accommodating towards sci-fi and Star Wars right in the middle of their routine.  Once they saw that we were not a bunch of geeks that know how to laugh and have a good time, the comedians really got into it.
