The Apprentice Goes to the Dark Side

The Official Star Wars Site has announced that on NBC's "The Apprentice," the candidates square off in the glitzy film business and work with one of the biggest movie franchises of all time: Star Wars. (Thursday, Nov. 10 9-10 p.m. ET/PT)

One candidate turns to the dark side against their teammates while another abandons their team in the final minutes. The winners learn first-hand what it means to be The Apprentice while the losers face the revenge of Donald Trump in the boardroom.

There are four TV spots created for this television event. Be sure to go and have a look! They are pretty funny.

Pride Displays ANH Vintage Style Diorama Retired

After 3,000 pieces, the Pride Displays A New Hope Vintage style display diorama has been retired. Less than 1,000 pieces are still available throughout the UK, EU, and the US.

"Pride Displays vintage style Star Wars diorama has retired production at just 3,000 pieces worldwide. Pride Displays first Star Wars diorama was a blast from the past in every sense, and grabbed the attention of admiring fans across the world. With it's 70's packaging and classic sculpting style it was destined to be special piece, and now only a special few will ever know how sweet it feels to look upon their cherished Star Wars figures on the original Pride Displays Star Wars diorama. The 'A New Hope' diorama was always a big piece and was designed to stand out, but sadly the large format packaging created unforeseen logistical implications, thus Pride Displays have redesigned how they produce and package their dioramas. 2006 will see a wide range of Star Wars themed displays with a whole new look, same big size diorama but in a smaller box with a smaller price tag."

Homing Beacon #148

The latest Homing Beacon has arrived and today we get to talk about Battlefront II and the Episode III DVD. The Star Wars home entertainment day you've been waiting for has arrived! Today November 1, the explosive and emotional finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, arrives on DVD and Star Wars Battlefront II, the sequel to the most successful Star Wars game ever, arrives on Xbox, Playstation 2, Windows PC and Sony PSP formats.

Lucasfilm and Fox Home Entertainment present a two-disc set for the Revenge of the Sith DVD, with uncompromising picture and sound mastered directly from the original digital source material. The DVD will include a brand-new full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. as well as two new featurettes -- one that explores the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, and the other that looks at the movie's amazing stunts. A 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's groundbreaking web documentary series, Making Episode III, will also be included in the set. A two-level playable demo of Star Wars Battlefront II is also included on the DVD.

For those who actually want to live out the action of the Star Wars universe, there's Star Wars Battlefront II, available today. LucasArts' sequel to the smash hit Star Wars Battlefront adds all new space combat, playable Jedi characters, and never-before-seen environments straight out of Episode III to the hard-hitting action. In addition to the group combat, Star Wars Battlefront II also has an all-new single-player experience that transports gamers through an epic, story-based saga centering on Darth Vader's elite 501st Legion of stormtroopers.
