Character
Section Updated-Four More Clone Commanders |
Today I have updated the Characters
Section with some more of the Clone Commanders featured in
Episode III. The latest additions are Commander
Appo, Commander
Bacara, Commander
Neyo, and Commander
Thire.
Be sure to also read about Commander
Bly, Commander
Cody, Commander
Gree, and Commander
Odd Ball who are the other Commanders previously added. All of
these characters are fascinating to me and I think we now have all
of the known Commanders listed. There is supposed to be a Star
Wars Insider coming out in the near future that will feature the
Clone Commanders of Episode III. If there are others that I do not
know about, I will be sure to post them as information becomes
available.
You can get a listing of characters using their picture by
episode at the Characters Section.
Or, if you would like to see an alphabetical listing of all of our
characters, you can check out the Character
Index. Enjoy!

Untitled
Hardcover by Elizabeth Hand Cancelled |
The untitled hardcover to be released in 2007 by Elizabeth Hand
has been cancelled. The Managing Editor of Lucasfilm Licensing,
Sue Rostoni has stated that:
"In the mature fiction area (I've never been comfortable
with "adult" fiction -- too many connotations) we've had
two unassigned hardcovers awaiting creative direction. Now there
are three. Elizabeth Hand was slated to write a novel set in the
Old Republic Era but, over-committed with other projects, has
reconsidered and stepped out. Ms. Hand's hardcover was slated for
an October 2007 release so this still gives us plenty of time to
assign another author and explore other Eras as possible settings."
Looks like we will have to wait for another author. |

Zeke from Venezuela has informed us of the winner!
"Hello guys! Just wanted you to know that Time
Movie Madness Tournament has just given Star Wars - A New Hope
the best Movie of All Times Title!!! Episode IV beat The
Godfather!!...Check it out!" Regars Ezequiel (Zeke)
Caracas, Venezuela
Thanks Zeke! Very cool for all of us Star Wars
fans. I would have hated to see The Godfather win the title.

Bid
on Luke and Vader's Lightsabers |
Yahoo News reports that two of the most famous props in US film
history -- light sabers belonging to Luke Skywalker and Darth
Vader of "Star Wars" fame -- will go under the hammer in
late July auction, organizers said.
Dozens of objects from George Lucas' celebrated sci-fi saga will
go the highest bidders at the July 29 auction in Beverly Hills
organized by Profiles in History, which specializes in the sale of
film props.
The Jedi knight's light saber, owned by "Star Wars"
producer Gary Kurtz, is estimated to sell for between 60,000 and
80,000 dollars.
The light saber used by the evil Darth Vader character in
"The Empire Strikes Back" is estimated to go for 40,000
to 60,000 dollars.
The light sabers, of course, worked only on screen with the help
of special effects. Luke's weapon, shown on Profiles in History's
website, is a silvery tube with a black handle.
The 75 objects up for bid include Skywalker's orange
"X-Wing" pilot jumpsuit, estimated to go for 60,000 to
80,000 dollars. Actor Mark Hamill wore the suit for flight scenes
in "Stars Wars" and "The Empire Strikes Back."
A Stormtrooper "blaster" weapon used in "Star
Wars" is expected to sell for between 25,000 and 30,000
dollars, while a latex mask used for the green Yoda character may
go for 8,000 to 10,000 dollars, organizers said. |

Rumored
Features for Revenge of the Sith DVD |
TheDigitalBits
has announced some rumored features for the upcoming Revenge of
the Sith DVD. Consider this tidbit seriously Rumor Mill-worthy,
but an Italian online DVD retailer has posted possible early
details on a little of what you can expect from Lucasfilm and
Fox's DVD release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
in November.
According to the site, look for the 2-disc set to include 2
behind-the-scenes featurettes/documentaries, 5 deleted scenes, a
music video, theatrical trailers, 12 TV spots, a production photo
gallery, DVD-ROM weblinks to an exclusive Star Wars.com site, an
Episode III videogame trailer and a playable Battlefront II game
demo. We suspect there will also be audio commentary.
Watch for official details to emerge soon from Lucasfilm, with an
anticipated street date for the release of either 11/1 or 11/8.
Sounds pretty good to me! I only wish the Battlefront II game demo
would be for the PC instead of the XBox this time. |
