New Look For
Galactic Voyage |
We start off the New Year with a
fresh new look for Galactic Voyage! As you can see, the Hoth theme is in
celebration of the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. The Hoth battle
was and still is my favorite part of the movie. It really gave you a sense of
how overwhelming the Empire really was. It is also very hard to believe that it
has been 30 years. Wasn't it just 1980? Also, the Image Section has returned for
the New Year. Please tell me what you think about the site. I would love to hear
from you. Enjoy!
Note: Can't see all the changes? Be sure to clear your
temporary files. |

Imperial Walkers
On The North Ridge |
A Rebel officer lifts a pair of
electrobinoculars to his eyes. Through the lens he sees a very close view of a
giant Imperial snow walker. He adjusts the view which then zooms back to reveal
three more of the ominous battle machines. Small flashes of yellow fire billow
from the guns of the lumbering snow walkers. The officer lowers his binoculars
as the regular rhythmic pounding begins to make the ground vibrate. The pounding
grows louder and is accompanied by a high-pitched, metallic rattling. The
officer speaks into his comlink.
Echo Station Three-T-Eight. We have
spotted Imperial walkers!
Stay tuned to Galactic Voyage for tomorrow's icy cool down!

No More Clone
Wars Comics |
Randy Stradley from Dark Horse, who is an editor commented on their forums about
the fate of The Clone Wars comic series.
"Issue #12 is the final monthly issue of The Clone Wars. It's really a
case of there not being enough of a market in the U.S. for comic books aimed at
the age bracket of TCW television show.
Over on the bookstore side, where
more of the customer traffic consists of parents, or even parents with kids in
tow,the digests are doing well. But in the comics specialty shops, where the
average customer is older -- and more likely to be looking for reading material
for themselves -- we're not finding an audience. Compounding this audience
dichotomy is the fact that Lucasfilm's overseas publishers are wanting material
skewed even younger than the comics we're producing, which would further erode
our domestic sales. It's simply a matter of the target audience for the "Clone
Wars" show not being a good fit for the U.S. comics market.
So, we'll
continue producing the Clone Wars digests, but the monthly comic books are going
away."
Sorry collectors! At least we still have the TV show. |
