The Official
Star Wars Site has announced that producer Rick McCallum
will be in Hollywood this fall for an all-day seminar that examines
the groundbreaking production of Star Wars: Episode II Attack
of the Clones, the first major digital live-action motion
picture.
Jointly
presented by Hollywood SMPTE, USC School of Cinema-Television and
Entertainment Technology Center, the seminar will be held at the
Digital Cinema Laboratory at the Pacific Hollywood Theater on
October 5, 2002.
The
seminar will explore the planning, challenges, and lessons learned
in the creation of the all-digital Episode II. Several of the key
players involved in production, post-production, visual effects,
sound and distribution will offer expertise on the future of
filmmaking. Scheduled to attend are HD Supervisor Fred Meyers,
Technical Supervisor Michael Blanchard, and Visual Effects
Supervisor John Knoll.
