The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes

Our good friend Andrew from EUCantina has found a rumor about a new Clone Wars game.

"According to a rumor on Destructoid, Krome Studios is currently developing Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

While no release date was mentioned, the rumor says that this third-person game will focus on two player co-op. Playable characters include Anakin, Ahsoka, Cad Bane, and more!

Destructoid provides some details on the gameplay:

The game will have a focus on melee combat, complete with upgrades that can be purchased throughout the game. The ability to control droids, such as the rolling Droideka, was also mentioned by our tipster."

We will provide more as information is comes in! Great find Andrew!

July 2009 Comics

The Official Star Wars Site has provided a look at more Dark Horse Comics for Star Wars fans in July.

Star Wars: Invasion #1 (of 5) Written by Tom Taylor; Art by Colin Wilson; Colors by Wes Dzioba; Cover by Jo Chen On sale July 1, 40 pages.

A new series comes to Dark Horse's Star Wars line! After its special sixteen-page preview here on StarWars.com, Star Wars: Invasion continues in print!

This series is set twenty-five years after the Battle of Yavin. The Jedi, and the galaxy, are facing their first real threat since the Sith were defeated: an invasion of hostile warriors called the Yuuzhan Vong.

The forces of the New Republic and the fledgling New Jedi Order stand ready to face the invaders, but they've never seen anything like the Yuuzhan Vong! Luke Skywalker is about to discover that it's not his galaxy anymore . . .

Star Wars: The Clone Wars #7 Written by Henry Gilroy and Steven Melching; Pencils by Scott Hepburn; Inks by Dan Parsons; Colors by Michael E. Wiggam On sale July 15. 40 pages

In the first part of a three-issue story, the Republic's air superiority on the world of Khorm is rendered moot by storms of unnatural origin. Grounded, Jedi Kit Fisto and Plo Koon plan a daring assault mission with a squad of tougher-than-nails Republic Commandos. But if going up against determined and dug-in Separatist forces wasn't enough, the Jedi must also contend with a glory-seeking young Republic officer in their midst, Captain Kendal Ozzel.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #43 "The Reaping" (Part 1 of 2) Written by John Jackson Miller; Art by Bong Dazo; Cover by Benjamin Carré; Colors by Michael Atiyeh. On sale July 15. 40 pages

An unprecedented new adventure begins -- leaving former Padawan Zayne Carrick clinging to the side of a comet!

When Zayne and crew infiltrate a comet mine, his partner Gryph believes it's another clever con to capture some quick cash. Little does Gryph know, Zayne and Jarael have other intentions -- like rescuing the miners enslaved by this ruthless mining operation.

Of course, the noble intentions of the team will all be for naught if their plot is discovered. Swimming through stardust is no place to be when enemy ships open fire!

Star Wars: Dark Times -- Blue Harvest #0 Written by Mick Harrison; Art and cover by Douglas Wheatley; Colors by Dave McCaig On sale July 29. 40 pages

Former Jedi Dass Jennir accepts a job that puts him on a collision course with not one, but two deadly outlaw gangs!

For the first time in print, here are the introductory chapters to "Blue Harvest" from MySpace Dark Horse Presents. The sixteen pages of story are presented two ways: first in color as they appeared online, and again in their raw, penciled beauty.

As fans of Dark Times know, Douglas Wheatley's art is rich with detail, and Dark Horse has received many requests to reproduce the art in its original form.

Star Wars: Legacy #38 "Tatooine" (Part 2 of 4) Written by John Ostrander; Pencils by Jan Duursema; Inks by Dan Parsons; Colors by Brad Anderson; Cover by Chris Warner On sale July 29. 40 pages

Living a pirate's life is as easy as bilaberry patogga when you're an ex-Jedi with loyal compatriots -- especially if you're stealing from Black Sun pirates who are stealing from the Empire. Well, it is until both sides figure out your game.

Now under the scrutiny of Black Sun and the Empire, Cade Skywalker and crew are anxious to get away from Tatooine. Agents Gunner Yage and Morrigan Corde are hot on Cade's trail, one of them still having a chip on her shoulder from a past encounter. And Black Sun's Vigo is planning something special for Cade and the Imperial agents. If only the Mynock's engines would start, all this trouble could be left behind...

Anthony Daniels Interview-Part 1

Our good friend Mark from Lightasabre has provided the first part of a three part interview with Anthony Daniels. Anthony's latest role is being the host of Star Wars: A Musical Journey.

Q – It was almost like the character won you over despite yourself?   I've heard other interviews where it was almost as if he - Threepio - won you over.

A – Oh, 100%, because he - or more correctly we should say 'it', although he finds it difficult when he hears 'it'.  Reminds him that he's not a real robot, you know, he's not a real human, just sort of - he, 'it', did win me over because he's a completely different personality so I can look at him from sideways, and admire him or be irritated by him or like him.  It's not me I'm talking about, so when I'm asked to see him on film I can see it in two modes, being picky and thinking 'I wish I hadn't done that, or I wish I'd done less or I could have done more there, or why didn't I do that', and the other bit is thinking 'he's fun really isn't he'.

Be sure to read the entire first part of this interview!
