The Return of the Jedi Arcade Game was produced by Atari and released in 1984. Gameplay was broken into three elements, each using a different character. The first part focuses on the speeder bike chase. Using Princess Leia, players race through the forest fighting Biker Scouts and avoiding Ewok traps in order to get to the village. The second battle features Lando Calrissian piloting the Millennium Falcon through the trench of the Death Star II. There, Lando must avoid TIE Fighters and other obstacles before he can destroy the reactor, and escape before the battle station explodes. The third segment features Chewbacca controlling a commandeered AT-ST while avoiding logs and other obstacles as he makes his way to the shield generator. The three elements, while linear in play, each offer differ their own obstacles and challenges.
