CharactersC-3PO
A golden protocol droid fluent in over six million languages and loyal to the Rebellion. Threepio is anxious and prone to berating those around him, but he is also a grand storyteller and is totally devoted to Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and his counterpart, R2-D2. Despite a cowardly personality, C-3PO participated in the rescue of Princess Leia from the first Death Star and joined Han Solos strike team on the forest moon of Endor, where he convinced the Ewoks to join the Rebels. C-3PO was activated many years before the Battle of Yavin, although his original form was reportedly very different from the golden droid so familiar to the heroes o the Galactic Civil War. His first job involved programming binary load lifters, but he subsequently went on to serve a host of employers before receiving his protocol programming. At some point, it is believed that he encountered R2-D2 and the pair embarked on numerous adventures together. Eventually, both droids found themselves aboard Princess Leias consular ship, the Tantive IV, in the service of Captain Antilles. When Imperials flooded the starship, Threepio reluctantly joined Artoo in an escape pod that subsequently crashed on Tatooine. On the desert world, C-3PO met his new master, Luke Skywalker, and subsequently began a long series of missions for the Rebel Alliance. After the fall of the Empire and the rise of the New Republic, Threepio took on the role of guardian and tutor to Han Solo ad Princess Leias three children. He also periodically joined Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian on various quests throughout the galaxy. He continues to be one of the New Republic's most valuable assets, and a true friend to those he serves. Although most droids are subject to periodic memory wipes, C-3PO has managed to avoid this fate for over a century. As a result he has developed sentience and a true personality. He has become extremely creative and is entirely capable of independent thought. Yet he remains incredibly devoted to the leaders of the New Republic and is determined to faithfully serve his allies.
