"Jedi Councilling"

This Jedi Councilling is another of the more stylized treatments; not as realistic as some.

1. This is the photo that it was based on and follows it fairly closely. I think it's a photo from a magazine called The Bulletin that I often read; actually it might be from the Newsweek supplement from that. From what it says under the photo it's an event where Palestinians defend al-Aqsa mosque against Israeli riot Police after a rally by extremist Jews.

2. Is a rough sketch to determine the additions or changes made to the figures and building.

3. Here you can see the sketches of the main figures for the composition. The alien Jedi heads were drawn from whatever sources I could find to get an idea of how they looked for their different angles in the painting.

3a. Is again a Guy Lagacé Probeshot which the general look of the Clone Troopers came from. My twist was to put the 'mouth' upward instead of down so it was reversed from the first trilogy to last.

3b. I remembered looking at Anakin's boots in the painting that there are a pair of some sort of coverings on his boots that look to have been removed in most of the scenes in the film - Attack of the Clones - but were on him when this body scan of him was taken. This scan was probably the best front-on pick I had of his costume at the time.

4. Is the final painting. It's simply painted and a bit stylized. Looking at it, it reminds me a bit of some early DaVinci paintings by its stylized figures and stonework - not to say it's anywhere as good. The picture was never meant to be literal, more a metaphorical representation of the trouble and which side the Jedi would find themselves on in the end.
