Today's first new video clip is
Star Wars Art: Comics - a tribute to sequential storytelling, a worthy and
justly celebrated art form.
Star Wars and sequential art share a long
history: Star Wars debuted on the comic-book page in 1977, when Marvel Comics
began publishing a six-part adaptation of the first film, which morphed into a
monthly comic book. Now, more than three decades later, new series by Dark Horse
Comics continue to expand the Star Wars galaxy.
The second book in the
Star Wars Art series, Star Wars Art: Comics brings together the very best
artwork from the entire history of Star Wars comics publishing, showcasing
original art from the top comics artists working in the industry. Hand-selected
and curated by George Lucas, the art featured in this volume includes interior
pages and fully painted covers from artists such as Al Williamson, Howard
Chaykin, Adam Hughes, Bill Sienkiewicz, Dave Dorman, and many more—as well as
new work created exclusively for this book by over 20 renowned artists,
including John Cassaday, Sam Kieth, Mike Mignola, Paul Pope, Frank Quitely, Jim
Steranko, and other comics superstars. Enjoy!

Sam Witwer To
Voice Another Clone Wars Character |
The Sam Witwer Fan Site has an
article announcing that Sam will return to The Clone Wars to voice another
character. You may remember Sam's great role as Brother in the Mortis Trilogy
from Season 3. Here is what Sam stated in a recent interview:
"It’s an amazing character. It is an amazing, amazing character. I’ll put
it to you this way. I was driving over to a buddy’s house and Dave Filoni calls
me up, gets me on the phone, and he says, “Listen, so we want you to come back
to work and we need you to play—” and he tells me the character’s name. And I
almost had a car accident. And he says, “Can you do it?” And I’m like, yes. And
then I worried about later whether I could do it or not. But I was like yes,
yes, I will do that. So it is a tremendous opportunity and I can’t wait for you
guys to find out about it.”
With that type of excitement from Sam it sounds like it could be Darth Maul
to me.
Here is a more recent update: "Sam has asked his admin here at
samwitwerfans.com to point out that, as he understand it, he doesn’t think the
character shows up until next season. He says he’s not really sure of the
details, and that it’s “a ways off” yet."
Anyway it shapes up, I am looking forward to another stellar performance in
The Clone Wars from Sam. Be sure to read the entire article!

New Timothy Zahn
Han Solo Novel |
Star Wars Books on Facebook has announced that "At our Del Rey
Star Wars books panel: Drew Karpyshyn will write a fourth novel that will tie
into The Old Republic for Fall 2012 and Tim Zahn will write a new novel
starring Han Solo set in the classic films era. More details to come on both as
they develop." Anything Zahn writes is great with me, and I love the idea of us
revisiting Han Solo!
