Today's new video clip in the Movies Section for "Droid Week" is episode 11 of Star
Wars: Droids called The Roon
Games which aired on November 16, 1985.
Having escaped the likes of Koong and Screed, Mungo Baobab, C-3PO
and R2-D2 make their way for the planet Roon but upon arriving to the system
they are gunned down by Koong's ships and crash land on Roon. Believing them to
be dead, Koong proceeds with his plans with Admiral Screed. Mungo and the droids
are okay but their ship is in desperate need for repair. To make matters worse
they are attacked by odd mud creatures until a girl named Auren Yomand her
father intervene, rescuing our friends. Oran is on her way to participate with
her team in an event called the Roon Games. Her team has won the games three
years running and is the only thing stopping Governor Koong from having complete
control over the planet.
Koong's fierce and sinister assistant Gaff attempts to destroy
Oran and her new friends by awaking a large beast which lives underground.
Managing to escape however, our heroes make it into town where Oran's team
prepares for the games but their troubles ain't over yet. A droid named O'Dingo,
who works for Gaff, plans to sabotage Oran's team. Poisoning one of the riders
and draining the power of a service droid makes it seem like Koong's efforts to
win the games are more than probable. Enter Mungo Baobab and C-3PO, Oran's new
team mates. Together they prepare for the race but Koong and his subjects still
have ruthless plans to stop them.
You can find the episode in our Television Shows
section. If you have a

Star Wars: The
Clone Wars "A Galaxy Divided" DVD |
Star Wars: The Clone Wars "A Galaxy Divided" DVD
is coming Tuesday, March 24. The price will be $19.98 for only 4 episodes!?!?
Okay. I thought we would get at least the first half of the season. The episodes
will be "Ambush," and the three-episode "Malevolence" story -- "Rising
Malevolence," "Shadow of Malevolence" and "Destroy Malevolence."
At least
they did mention that for fans eager to own the entire first season of Star
Wars: The Clone Wars, Lucasfilm is in the midst of producing a multi-disc boxed
set that is expected to debut later in 2009. Full details of the first-season
DVD boxed set, which is also planned to mark the first Blu-Ray appearance of the
series, will be announced later this year. The collection will include
substantial bonus material that is currently in production at Lucasfilm,
including explorations of the behind-the-scenes creation of the hit series. If
you want more information, read the entire article at the Official Star Wars
Site.
Trying to get twice the money they are? Hmmmm? I will wait for
the boxed set.

Wars: Droids called Tail of the Roon
Comets which aired on November 9, 1985.
Mungo Baobab becomes obsessed with locating a powerful and valuable resource
called Roon stones. Along with R2-D2 and C-3PO, the three of them set out on a
journey through uncharted space to find the Roon system only to be diverted when
they get sucked into the tractor beam of a salvage ship owned by the greedy
Governor Koong. Koong has recently made a deal with the Empire via Admiral
Screed and believes Baobab and the Droids have arrived on behalf of the Emperor
for which our friends play with the idea. This changes however when Screed and
his stormtroopers arrive themselves. Mungo, Threepio and Artoo attempt to escape
but their efforts are thwarted and if someone doesn't act quickly Mungo Baobab
will be a prisoner of the Empire, Artoo will have a ghastly new owner and
Threepio is set for reprogramming....

New Star Wars
Packaging Design |
The Official Star Wars Site has
announced that fans and collectors will soon see a new packaging design across
all Star Wars merchandise. The timing of the new packaging design is
intended to correspond roughly with the second season of The Clone Wars
on Cartoon Network and to celebrate the launch of all new episodes. "We
collaborated with Pilot just like we have in the past," says Lucas Licensing
Director of Global Product Development Stacy Cheregotis. "We look to them for
cutting edge design and creativity, and they look to us for direction about what
we want to accomplish with the packaging." Be sure to read
the entire article.

Star Wars
Battlefront: Mobile Squadrons |
Pocketgamer.co.uk has an interesting article about a teaser
announcement of a brand new Star Wars Battlefront game for the mobile
platform.
"Fans of the Battlefront series should be particularly excited since the
series was essentially defunct once developer Pandemic was bought up by EA -
removing its option to license property from LucasFilm. Fortunately Mikoishi is
still here to keep the franchise alive for pocket gamers.
We saw a Star
Wars Battlefront Mobile game way back in 2005, and although we don't have many
details on apparent sequel Star Wars Battlefront: Mobile Squadrons, the title
suggests something of a crossbreed between the Battlefront FPS action and
possibly the strategic fighting/multiplayer of the recent Clone Wars game, also
from THQ Wireless.
The teaser picture we've seen shows Count Dooku, the
Emperor and Yoda all brandishing their Lightsabers, with Princess Leia alongside
- suggesting a journey through all episodes, one to six, with a degree of online
action built into the game."
