"Clone Clone On The Range"
This is another of the old paintings; as it's inspiration might suggest.
1. This is a Probeshot by Guy Lagacé and was what inspired me to do this painting. Guy is a long time
Star Wars fan who did some great digital art work before he left the scene. This Probeshot is a good example of how excellent his work was.
2. This is the second part of the inspiration. If I remember its a photo from a National Geographic magazine. I
thought the figure would make a good base for Padmé.
3. Are some of the various sketches. There isn't a lot of variation in them apart from the second with the more extreme downward perspective. The sketches of the three main figures were done to try and work out the shadows.
4. I think this would have been the extent of the information I had on Padmé
to work with then.
5. Is how the painting ended up. Padmé is surrounded by a sea of Clone Troopers and is a bit pensive about what it all means, Count Dooku is behind her. Is he behind it all? Emperor Palpatine looks a but suspicious too. The red and blue not only serves as sky but a reference to the Dark and Light side also. The painting overall is fairly effective, though the
Padmé figure isn't painted very well. Guy Lagacé was fairly pleased and impressed when I showed it to him and indicated he was the inspiration for it.
