* = Thoughts of the character. Ex.* Thoughts*

A tall older man in a long black robe ran cautiously down a dark tunnel, through cold water up to his ankles. Stopping he opened a cleverly concealed door to his left. Pushing it slowly open he masked his presence from the force and the sole occupant of the room. A young woman, raising his inactivated light saber to her neck he unmasked himself from her. Suddenly detecting his presence she jumped activating her own purple lightsaber just in time to stop his from cutting her arm off. Using the force he slammed her against the wall, the young woman’s lightsaber flew out of her hand and landed in a far corner of the room. To the mans surprise she jumped up as soon as he let go. *She is good* he thought admiring her obvious skill " pity I must destroy you." Was all he said aloud. Bringing his saber down on her neck as she tried desperately to find her dropped lightsaber. She didn’t even have time to scream. " Pity." The man repeated walking over the now beheaded corpse. He headed towards a large violet – green ring that was glowing on the floor nearby. Typing in some coordinates into the computer beside it he stepped inside the ring. An evil grin lit his face before he suddenly disappeared.

Qui-Gon Jinn had been meditating in his quarters when a sudden and unstoppable force sent him unconscious. A few seconds later he opened his eyes and was surprised to find himself not in his brightly-lit room but in a dark room of some sort. Searching it with the force he was appalled to find a beheaded corpse lying on the floor not very far away. Just then a door beside him opened and a blue lightsaber blade was pointed at his throat. Glancing up he was shocked to find ...Obi-Wan standing over him a look of pure hatred on his face. Then a young human woman who looked to be in her twenties walked up behind Obi-Wan. * Or at least someone who looks like my padawan* Qui-Gon thought bewildered at the drastic change of events. The young woman started to talk to Obi-Wan in a strange language that Qui-Gon could not identify. After a while they seemed to some sort of an agreement and to Qui-Gon's relief the blue blade was moved from his throat but not deactivated. Looking closer at the man who appeared to be his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi. Qui-Gon saw that it wasn’t his apprentice. This man looked to be about 7 years older than his Obi-Wan. Finally the woman shouted something more at the man who sighed with impatience; the man deactivated his lightsaber but did not clip it to his belt. " Who are you?" the woman asked urgently. Puzzled and still slightly shocked Qui-Gon hesitated before answering. " I’m.... Qui-Gon Jinn. Who are you, and where am I." The mans face softened and the hate left his expression. "I am Akima." The woman answered " ...and this is Obi-Wan Kenobi." She sighed heavily "you are from what we call the 5th reality." At that Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow. Obi-Wan reluctantly explained. " There is a gate that allows us to travel through different realities. It is to complicated to explain now." Obi-Wan jerked his head up suddenly and turned back towards the door. ‘ They are coming." He whispered. Akima activated her own white lightsaber and followed Obi-Wan out the door in a full run. Qui-Gon stood silently for a few seconds before activating his green lightsaber and running out after them. The first thing he saw was that the older Obi-Wan and Akima were fighting against a group of black robed attackers, surprising them Qui-Gon jumped into the fight to help his new made friends.

Akima was struggling to reach Obi-Wan who was at the center a group of the black clad beings. Sparing a glance she looked over to where Qui-Gon was easily fending off the attackers. * Hmmm. He’s younger. * She thought to herself as she continued to fight towards the slowly tiring Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan could see Akima was trying to fight towards him, but he knew she wouldn’t make it in time. The force warned him of an attack from behind, knowing he didn’t have time to black the blow Obi-Wan closed his eyes and waited to die, but to his surprise nothing happened. Looking over his shoulder he saw Qui-Gon fighting off the would be killer. Then just as suddenly as they had come the black clad figures left scattering like a clan of galian lizards. With Akima and Qui-Gon safe Obi-Wan slid down to sit on a patch of green grass to rest. " We need to find the others." He said to Akima who nodded in agreement. Turning to Qui-Gon she said softly " thank you. Qui-Gon Jinn." * I wonder what his Obi-Wans life is like* Obi-Wan wondered thoughtfully. Qui-Gon was still breathing hard as Obi-Wan and Akima started walking towards the center of the city. " What were those." Qui-Gon asked curiously referring to their earlier attackers. Obi-Wan answered without turning " Sith." He said icily.

Meanwhile back in the universe of the 5th reality Obi-Wan Kenobi was walking quickly towards his masters quarters. He was suppose to be meditating but was required to stay behind after his last class. Grimacing he walked into their shared quarters and was mildly surprised to see Qui-Gon sitting on the couch a pleased expression on his face. * Oh, no* Obi-Wan moaned mentally. * I didn’t feel him. His shields must be up, hope he isn’t to mad * Qui-Gon stood up slowly his smile quickly turning into a dark frown " you are pathetic aren’t you." He spat out the words. Obi-Wan took a step backward. " I’m sorry I was late master.’ He started to apologize shocked at his masters cutting words. Walking over Qui-Gon back handed him.

"Master.... What-." that was all Obi-Wan was able to say before Qui-Gon kicked him in the chest. " I want you to fight me stupid boy." Obi-Wan tried blocking some of the blows but only halfheartedly. He simply could not believe this was his master, Qui-Gons attacks got more vicious as he started using the force to slam Obi-Wan into the wall. When it seemed most of his furry was spent Qui-Gon turned around and calmly walked back into his room leaving a very afraid and insecure Obi-Wan standing alone in the main room. After a few shock filled minutes the apprentice went into the fresher and washed the blood from his face and arms cleaning the cuts thoroughly. Then after changing his bloody tunic he headed for his next class. In the hall he saw Jedi council member mace Windu walking in his direction. Trying to look like nothing had happened to him Obi-Wan started walking quickly. He had almost passed the master when a burning pain in his chest brought the padawan to his knees. " Are you ok padawan Kenobi?" mace asked with concern. Obi-Wan couldn’t answer at first as he knelt eyes squeezed shut, hand pressed against his hurting chest. It felt like someone was stabbing him with a vibro shiv. After a minute he pain lessened and then finally stopped. Standing up Obi-Wan just stood there forgetting for a moment that master Windu was still beside him. " Obi-Wan do you want me to comm. Your master. Do you need the healers." At the mention of his master Obi-Wan turned ready to flee. But catching himself at the last minute he looked to mace not sure if he should tell the truth or not * he wont believe me. But I cant lie to a master* he thought frantically before finally muttering " no master Windu I really have to go." Turning he walked as quickly as he could away from the bewildered council member. " What happened to him." Mace wondered aloud " and where did he get those bruises." The fear also had not escaped the observant Jedi master.

"Sith!" Qui-Gon whispered in disbelief. " They’ve been dead for almost a millennia." At his Akima shook her head sadly. " It is so in the 5th reality but here..." she paused glancing at the Jedi master. " Well, the Sith grew more and more, unknown by the Jedi. Then after their number was large enough they started taking over system after system...and, ours is next. They have hundreds of millions on their side while we Jedi number in the mere hundreds of thousands not enough to hold out for long." Obi-Wan had waited patiently for Akima to finish then whispered urgently. " They are here." Qui-Gon looked around expecting more trouble but instead all he saw was hundreds of men and women, walking, running and stumbling towards them. " Looks like we didn’t lose any." Obi-Wan stated with obvious relief.

"There are some bad injuries though, we had better get back to base." Akima observed and called out loudly in yet a different language. After a few seconds she turned back and they headed down another road out of the city. Qui-Gon still couldn’t quite grasp the thought of being in another universe.

"What’s Obi-Wan going to do." He wondered aloud thinking of his young apprentice back home. Did the boy even realize he was gone? Half an hour later they reached a large open meadow. Running quickly forward Akima and Obi-Wan started searching the for something, them obviously finding it Obi-Wan turned to the large crowd of people and using some sort of sign language he made rapid gestures towards the violet- green ring that had appeared on the ground. When he was done Obi-Wan turned to Qui-Gon. " It is the gate." He said simply. The groups formed into a long line with Akima and Qui-Gon out front. Grabbing Qui-Gons hand Akima held it tightly. Smiling grimly she explained. " You don’t have a implant so you can’t use the gate unless you are in direct contact with one of us." Nodding to Obi-Wan who had taken a position at the end of the line Akima took a deep breath and walked into the circle.

*Where am I running to* Obi-Wan asked himself miserably. I can’t go to any of my classes the masters will see the bruises then take me to the healers or my master. Shivering at the thought of his master Obi-Wan thought of an idea. Walking to the nearest lift he took it to the center level of the temple and stepping off he turned right down a all to familiar corridor then left down another before coming to a stop before a small cubby space. Opening the door he crawled in to the small space shutting the door securely behind him. The back wall had been torn out years ago replaced by a glass window. Obi-Wan loved this place it was his secret that nobody else knew about. He always came here to think and do his meditating. This time he didn’t have the strength or will to meditate about what had happened. " What’s wrong with Qui-Gon." Obi-Wan wondered shuddering as he remembered how brutally Qui-Gon had beaten him. Obi-Wan couldn’t even bring himself to think of that violent, almost sadistic man as his loving, kind master. No something terrible must have happened. Exhausted and hurting from his many injuries Obi-Wan leaned against the wall and instantly fell into a dreamless sleep.

Qui-Gon felt like he was sinking, rising, spinning and floating all at the same time. He was just starting to feel nauseous when it stopped and he would have fallen if it weren’t for animas strong grip on his arm. " It’s ok happens to everybody on the first time." She reassured leading him over to a nearby chair, which he gratefully sat down on. Qui-Gon took in his surroundings. He was sitting in a lighted room with chairs or mats filling almost the whole floor. One by one the Jedi from the meadow arrived and sat down each instantly falling into a healing trance. After 200 or so had come through something was obviously wrong. Instead of coming over 1 at a time they were coming in-groups of five with their multi colored lightsabers activated. " Sith attack. They have Obi-Wan down." One of the men reported. Akima paled. Qui-Gon stood up instantly. " Akima get me back there I have to help him." Akima nodded and grabbing Qui-Gons hand again she shouted an order over her shoulder then jumped in the ring. Qui-Gon who had barely recovered from the first trip through the gate was nearly sick, but with the forces help he was able to make it to the other side. Landing with a soft thump Qui-Gon looked frantically around for Obi-Wan * Obi-Wan* he automatically sent through their force bond, afterwards not expecting and answer. * Master.... Is that you? * Came the hesitant and fearful response.

*Yes* he sent back then he spotted Obi-Wan's still form. " Obi-Wan!" He cried running over and kneeling beside him. Obi-Wan was obviously unconscious and in bad shape. How could he have responded through the bond? Qui-Gon wondered momentarily before shrugging it away. Between Akima and himself they carefully lifted Obi-Wan up and carried him through the gate.* Who could have been accessing the bond * Qui-Gon asked himself Qui-Gon decided to ask Akima when they got back. * Master* the word exploded through the bond followed by a rush of overwhelming fear and pain. He gasped not even noticing that they had reached the room. * Its ok padawan. * What was happening? He wondered. Akima brought him back to reality with a loud slap " help me with Obi-Wan." She yelled angrily walking towards a group of empty chairs. Setting Obi-Wan down Qui-Gon was torn. Should he reassure his frightened padawan or should he use that force energy to help Akima heal Obi-Wan. His questions were answered by Akima "will you get over here and help me." She asked exasperated. Clearly not taking no for an answer. Focusing on Obi-Wan Qui-Gon let the forces healing power flow through him into the young man. " What was wrong with you back there. I yelled at you and you didn’t even blink." Qui-Gon sighed softly. " I was communicating with my apprentice Obi-Wan through the force. He was hurting...bad, and you slapped me before I could even find out why he was so afraid, He has never been afraid of me before." Akima quickly looked away as she started to cry. Something Qui-Gon least expected of the strong woman. " I am sorry." She muttered absently wiping the tears away. Taking a long shuddering breath she continued slowly. " Obi-Wan was tortured terribly by.... Shetan Jinn, he is the Qui-Gon of our reality." Qui-Gon gasped completely shaken by the idea of him beating Obi-Wan the boy he had loved like a son for years. " That’s not the worst so sit down." Akima warned seriously. " Shetan is...in the 5th reality, your reality." Qui-Gon paled as the reality of what she had said sank in. "Obi-Wan no." he turned to Akima more frightened than he had ever been in his entire life. " he thinks I did it, doesn’t he." Akima didn’t need to answer the question he already knew the answer was yes. " Noooo!" the shout startled both of them as Obi-Wan suddenly regained consciousness. " Its ok obi." Akima soothed helping him into a sitting position. Now that Obi-Wan was out of immediate danger Qui-Gon knew he had to get back to his Obi-Wan and quickly. " Akima I have to get back to Obi-Wan, qui-." the rest of his sentence was cut short as a sharp pain brought the Jedi master to his knees. " Qui-Gon what's wrong." Akima shouted confused and worried. " Obi-Wan." He finally gasped out before the pain became too intense and he passed out.

*Master no! * Obi-Wan shouted just before he blacked out from the pain. Shetan had somehow discovered his hiding place and had continued to beat him until he had blacked out. * Why is he doing this * was his last coherent thought before the darkness had enveloped him. Hours later he sat up groaning from the pain. * I need to tell the council * he kept telling himself over and over again. He wouldn’t be able to stand another beating like this. Standing up he had to lean against the wall to steady himself. Not caring what he looked like the padawan took a lift to the level the council room was located on. Walking unsteadily to the double doors he pressed the activation button then stumbled into the small circular room, knowing full well what an offence it was to walk in without permission. 12 pairs of eyes turned towards him. Mace gasped and standing up he quickly walked over to Obi-Wan who was leaning heavily against the wall his strength draining fast. " Obi-Wan what happened." Mace asked glancing at his bloody face and cloths. "Where is master Qui-Gon." Mace asked. At the mention of his master Obi-Wan stiffened and fear flowed from him "He...He...he attacked me..." Obi-Wan was finally able to whisper. He still couldn’t believe it had all happened. The masters gasped and mace looked like he would faint. " Sure you are?" Yoda asked a look of disbelief on his face. Obi-Wan paused before nodding. " Yes master Yoda.... Twice.... I still don’t understand." He felt the tears of regret and pain well up, and he had no strength left to hold them back. Then he felt a sudden feeling of comfort and love being sent to him over the force bond he had shared with his master. " I just don’t understand." He whispered again before slumping unconscious. Yoda looked greatly disturbed. " Send for Qui-Gon you will." He said sharply. Mace nodded and walked over to the comm. Unit.

" Qui-Gon wake up." Opening his eyes Qui-Gon saw akimas worried face. Pushing himself unsteadily to his feet he grimaced then said quickly. " I have to go back something is wrong with Obi-Wan it was his pain I felt. Please return me." Akima shook her head sadly. " I cannot leave my people and you cant pass through the gate alone." Qui-Gon couldn’t believe what he was hearing." But I have to help him...he’ s the most important thing in the world to me." Subconsciously he sent a wave of comfort and love over the bond. " I will go." A strong firm voice stated from behind them. Qui-Gon sighed with relief it was Obi-Wan. After a brief discussion with Akima on their strange language she nodded and started setting in some coordinance into the gate computer base. After a few seconds she stood up " Ok I cant guarantee where in the temple you will arrive, but Obi-Wan you have to return through the gate in 5 standard minutes or it will close. I cannot chance any longer with shetan at that end." Obi-Wan nodded in understanding. Grabbing onto Qui-Gon’s arm Obi-Wan walked into the circle. Once again Qui-Gon felt that stomach wrenching feeling of traveling through space and time. Then he came to a sudden stop. Landing on his hands and knees and breathing hard. Obi-Wan was kneeling beside him still clutching his arm; the young man was starring at master Windu a haunted look on his face. All the council members where staring at them in complete shock. Then he caught sight of the just collapsed Obi-Wan. * Obi-Wan* he sent frantically pushing himself off the floor he stood up. Stumbling over to his apprentice. The older Obi-Wan stood also activating his blue lightsaber as he did so. Just then the council room doors burst open and an older Qui-Gon in a black robe walked in. " shetan." Obi-Wan greeted the man icily. Shetans only response was a dark smile. " Well, if it isn’t the pathetic Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi." He said just as coolly. "You always wanting to kill me.... Well boy here’s your chance."

Obi-Wan slowly opened his eyes; he could hear lightsaber blades humming somewhere close by. Turning his head he saw himself and his master standing in the center of the room lightsaber blades activated * didn’t know master had a red lightsaber blade* he thought absently. He felt so confused and his head hurt like Sith. " It’s okay Padawan." Obi-Wan jerked his head around and saw Qui-Gons kind blue eyes looking down at him, he looked back and forth between the two Qui-Gons. Seeming to sense his confusion Qui-Gon smiled. " It’s a long, long story. Tell you later." Then along with everyone else they watched the two who were still circling each other.

The older Obi-Wan hadn’t attacked yet but he hadn’t looked away either, he was standing patiently lightsaber ready. " What are you to much of a coward like him." Shetan pointed to the collapsed Obi-Wan. Shetans patience seemed to be wearing very thin. " Come join me on the dark side." He proposed. Every Jedi in the room gasped audibly.

Qui-Gon mentally calculated how long the older Obi-Wan had left before the gate closed. The master was shocked to discover it would only stay open for another 20 seconds about how much time it would take to run and jump into it the ring. Standing up he walked towards the pair his own saber hilt in hand. " Obi-Wan the gate now!" He yelled. Shetan momentarily distracted by Qui-Gons warning, looked away. That was all the chance Obi-Wan needed, deactivating his lightsaber he sprinted to where the violet-green ring was slowly fading. Just before he disappeared the young man turned around and threw a thin silver object towards shetan. Doubling over with pain shetan pressed a hand against his chest an agonized expression on his face. " Sith blade...poison." he gasped out before falling to the floor dead.

Qui-Gon Jinn stared at his now dead double for a long minute before thoughts of his padawan entered his stunned mind. Turning to master Yoda he bowed and formally asked leave to take Obi-Wan to the healers. Permission was instantly granted and Qui-Gon walked over helping his still weak apprentice to his feet. * What a day * Qui-Gon thought in amusement, as they headed towards a lift. * I am glad you’re here master * the mental voice was small and timid. Looking down he smiled.

Hope you liked it =) I was planning on writing a sequel but that depends on how much you liked it so feel free to e-mail me.
