Today our affiliate Watto's Junkyard has a great report on how Shmi contributes to the downfall of Anakin to the Dark Side! Spoiler - Highlight to read: It all begins with a very brutal but simple beginning. Anakin's fall from grace will begin with the brutal murder of his mother.
Now we have been led to believe all along that Shmi Skywalker will be murdered by the Fett's. Well today folks. I have found out that this is indeed not the case.
Shmi Skywalker will be murdered by a group of Tusken Raiders or Sand People as they are commonly called. Anakin fights them off and sits out all night cradling the shattered body of his dying mother who eventually does die in his arms.
This is the key pinnacle event that starts the hatred flowing into Anakin. He will later taste the real Dark Side during a later battle to save Padme and it is during that battle that Anakin will slip from Kenobi's grasp prompting the duel in Episode III. What a great link to Episode I and IV! I would love to know how this happens!
