7.7.01 I am interested in your concept behind the propulsion system of the Gungan bongo sub. Did I read somewhere that Japanese researchers are involved in a project somewhat similar? This report comes from the Official Star Wars Site! Answered by: Doug Chiang The propulsion grew out of the asethetics of the sub design. I wanted to create something that was reminiscent of squids and octopuses with their long tentacles. In trying to rationalize why this vehicle would have these long tentacle-shapes, I thought it would be more appropriate to use them as the propulsion system and turn them into organic, semi-ridged propellers. This solution made the sub more real and understandable. Jedi Power
