Some of Episode II Filming Wraps Up!

This report comes from the Official Site:

Production of Episode II continues on schedule; as shooting wraps on certain scenes, a number of actors find themselves ready to depart the production -- at least temporarily. As is common in filming, Episode II is being shot out of sequence, and some actors have already completed the bulk of their work on the film.

Jimmy Smits finished shooting his scenes for Bail Organa and departed Sydney on the afternoon of Saturday, July 15. Samuel L. Jackson, the Jedi Master Mace Windu, also left on Saturday having finished all but his action scenes. He is scheduled to return in front of the camera in August.

Anthony Daniels finished his work as C-3PO at Fox Studios, and left Australia on Wednesday, July 19. "I am so sad to be leaving Sydney, I had the best time here. I've never had more fun, never been with nicer people." Daniels is a veteran of the four previous Star Wars films, but is still daunted by the scale of the production. "I almost gave up when I looked at the number of pages in the crew list. But of course, a few days later you really get to know people and to rely on them. And it's so interesting to see so many departments weaving their way together." Daniels plans to spend his month-long break in England and New York, but will rejoin the crew in Italy and Tunisia. "I will return," he says with determination, "and I look forward to Episode III. Who knows where I might turn up next!"
